Only 30% of IT graduates meet the demands and expectations of India’s IT industry.

Less than 20% of other graduates are suitable for BPO and ITES.

How will India bridge this Skills Gap?

How will India cope with the increasing numbers and the demands of industry, customers and the economy?

How will India recognize and develop the right talent?

How will India derive the maximum benefit from the new technologies of skills assessment and development?

This international conference, brought together experts and experienced practitioners from India and the UK. They shared knowledge, best practice and experience of how to leverage the new tools and techniques of e-Assessment to cost effectively and efficiently identify, evaluate and develop talent and potential.

At ASSESSMENT TOMORROW Bangalore 2007, an exciting line up of speakers joined us to discuss the latest developments in the use of Information Technology and Information Communications Technology to measure skills, knowledge and understanding; and how they impact assessment, the learner and the delivery of the learning. This included formal qualifications in the classroom and the workplace including IT Skills Certification, ITES and BPO Skills Assessment.

The objectives for the Conference were

  • Raise the awareness of the importance of e-Assessment, in all its forms from electronic testing to e-portfolio management in measuring Competency, Skills, Knowledge and Understanding
  • Provide a forum in which the benefits and implications of e-Assessment in the Indian context can be discussed and explored.
  • Evaluate the IT required by Education and Industry to measure and develop skills and knowledge and what IT can provide that is fit for purpose and cost effective
  • Bring the strategists, policy makers, practitioners and major players together at one event for an exchange of ideas and to review lessons learnt and opportunities taken,
  • Provide a forum developing the debate on the selection and use of e-Assessment and
  • Identify its’ role within a developing and evolving Assessment programme whether in the classroom, the workplace or in recruitment and selection.
